Historicity
There is a scriptural evidence to show that this temple was built on the fifth day of the bright half of the month of Magha after a period of 70 years of Mahavir’s anniversary. There is a reference that under the instructions of Jayvijaygani this tirth was revived in the year 1728 of the Vikram era and since the old idol was lost, a new idol was installed. Since the new idol was also broken, another new idol was installed under the auspices of Vijayarajendrasuraji on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Vishakh in the year 1959 of the Vikram era. The ancient idol is there even today on the open square. Once Korta was a big city. Even today, one can have an idea of its prosperity.

Works of art and Sculpture
The ancient idol of Mulnayak is very charming, artistic and sighty. There are ancient arched gates and many artistic remains of the thirteenth century. There is a museum under the temple.
