Among the cities of Kutch, Mandvi is a great tirth. On the sea-shore, it is a great center of the Jain religion. There is a great development of trade and commerce since Mandvi is a port, it is very famous.

There is a vast and beautiful temple of Bhagawan Shantinath in Shri Meghji Pethraj Jain Ashram which is at the end of the bridge in the city. This Ashram is an extraordinary tirth of service to humanity. It is a comfortable place for helpless, weak and old people to live in. Dedicated to the aim of service to humanity, this Ashram which is managed by the sangha, also provides good accommodation for weak Sadhus and Sadhvis who are unable to wander about. The store-house of manuscripts in this tirth is very ancient.

There are also good boarding and lodging provisions. This port is also developed where one can go for change of climate. The cloth-printing industry of this place is also very famous. This is a special place belonging to the small group of the five temples of Kutch-Bhuj.
