Tirth
It is in the Sauripur village on the bank of the Yamuna river.
Historicity
This city was named after Sauri, the grandson of a King of the Yadu dynasty. Since this is the land of Chyavan and birth Kalyanakas of Bhagawan Neminath, the twentieth of the twenty-fourth Tirthnakaras of the present group, also know as Bhagawan Neminath this is a holy tirth. In the ‘Vividh Kalpa’ written by an Acharya of the fourteenth century, there is a mention of renovation of this temple and of installation of the idol of Bhagawan Neminath in it. It is mentioned that the idol of Bhagawan was installed in the year 1640 of the Vikram era. This was the land of two Kalyanakas of Bhagawan Neminath. Moreover, this was the land of attainment of omniscience and nirvana of many sadhus. This was also the birthplace of Karna the donor. Thus in many ways, this is a holy tirth.

Besides these Digambar and Svetambar temples, there is at present no temple.
Works of art and Sculpture
In ancient times, this was a very large and old city. Many destroyed remains show it. A number of ancient works of art, have been found from many destroyed remains. It is inferred that there are many ancient remains and ruins temples in this hilly region. If research is started even today, there is a possibility of finding many ancient things. There is a mention that many ancient inscriptions, copper coins and idols were taken away to Agra.
