Shri Dharmanath Bhagwan
Bhagwan Dharmanath was born in Ratnapuri to King Bhanu and Queen Suvrata Devi of the Ikshvaku dynasty. His name, meaning “Lord of Dharma,” reflected the deep spiritual inclination of his parents and the auspiciousness of his birth. His symbol is the Vajra (thunderbolt), representing spiritual strength and unwavering resolve.
In a previous life, he was King Dridhrath, known for ruling with detachment and purity. After intense penance, he earned the Tirthankar-nama-gotra-karma and was reborn in the Vaijayant heaven before descending into his final birth. As Dharmanath, he ruled wisely, then renounced worldly life and attained Kevalgyan (omniscience) within two years of diksha under the Mango tree.
He preached the path of righteousness, non-violence, and liberation, and attained moksha at Sammed Shikharji, becoming a Siddha, eternally free from the cycle of birth and death.
