Shri Mallinath Bhagwan
- Born in Mithila to King Kumbh and Queen Prabhavati, Mallinath is the only female Tirthankar in the current time cycle according to the Shwetambar tradition. In a previous birth, she was King Mahabal, who practiced intense penance but deceived his companions, leading to rebirth as a woman despite spiritual advancement. Her birth was marked by the Queen’s craving for fragrant flowers, inspiring the name Malli Kumari.
Renowned for her wisdom and beauty, she remained unmarried, setting a spiritual example of detachment and purity. She attained Keval Gnan under an Ashoka tree and preached the path of liberation to thousands of followers. Her symbol (laanchhan) is the Kalash (pot), and she attained moksha at Sammed Shikharji.
