Shri Munisuvrat Bhagwan
Born in Rajgriha to King Sumitra and Queen Padmavati, Munisuvrat Swami belonged to the Harivansh dynasty, the same lineage as Lord Krishna. His birth was marked by auspicious signs and a deep sense of peace, inspiring the name Munisuvrat, meaning "vow of a sage." In a previous life, he was King Vajrayudh, who renounced his kingdom and practiced intense penance, earning the karmic merit to become a Tirthankar. He attained Keval Gnan under a black plum (jamun) tree, and his teachings emphasized self-restraint, truthfulness, and spiritual discipline. His symbol (laanchhan) is the tortoise, representing steadfastness and inner strength.
He attained moksha at Sammed Shikharji, guiding countless souls on the path of liberation.Chyavan Day ( conception ) | Shravan Sud 15 |
